Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to all who believe. Romans 10:4
Christians rightly claim that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness for those who believe, but they wrongly claim that this act of believing is something man must do, rather than a work of God. (The crux of the New Covenant gospel of Christ is found here.)
Today, according to current Christian/Catholic orthodoxy, the righteousness of God through the law—what you must do—has been replaced by the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ, with choosing to believe being something you must do.
Said another way, your pastors and priests are teaching Christ as the end of what you do—the law—for righteousness, if you do the right thing: repent, believe in Him, remain in Him, continue believing, and live a godly life, etc.
There is no escaping the contradiction if you are going to be honest and objective.
The current Christian/Catholic "gospel" message is nothing more than another version of the law for righteousness because it depends entirely on what you choose to do. The principle is the same; only the specific things you have to do have changed.
