Purpose
John 19:30"It is finished."
1 John 4:14"And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world."
2 Corinthians 5:19"God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting men’s sins against them."
The above passages from the New Testament (NT) speak to why Jesus came to earth, and what He accomplished while here. Specifically, these three Scriptures, and at least seventy more tell us:
-
Jesus came to save everyone, purge all sin, reconcile us all to Himself, and redeem us all.
-
He accomplished (past tense) what He came to do. "It is finished."
God redeemed and reconciled everyone to Himself through Jesus's death and resurrection, and we had nothing to do with it causally.
This is critical to understand because at the foundation of Christianity/Catholicism, and all other religions, is the incorrect belief that we have everything to do with it causally, and experiencing anything good from God depends on us. Said another way: The church teaches self-righteousness, and calls it Christ as your righteousness, which is why I've created this blog, and a book to be published within the blog titled: "You Have Nothing to Do With It."
Simply put...the purpose of FakeYouOut.com is to demonstrate that the degree to which you experience God in your life does not depend on you, it depends on God. The flesh, the world, the devil, and "the church" teach and propagate that it depends on you.
1 Corinthians 1:30 - "It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God, that is our righteousness, holiness, and redemption."
Romans 5:10 - "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."
Romans 3:23-24 - "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus..."

Finally, I'd like to bring your attention to three critical points it helps to understand ahead of reading You Have Nothing to Do With It, and anything else I write.
1 - My intended audiece are primarliy those who take their Christian/Catholic faith seriously. Those who confess to love Jesus, but struggle with a sense of inadequacy/not measuring up, or pretend they don't. (Because we all do.)
If you don't consider yourself in the above group, but are curious about Jesus and the gospel, I've written a very brief Coles/Cliff Notes version of it in Appendix D. I encourage anyone who begins reading the book, and feels lost, to begin there.
2 - I'm not (yet) attempting to explain everything in the New Testament that has the appearance of contradicting what I've written. (Eternal torment in hell for unbelievers for example.) This is due to my strong conviction you'll be able to reconcile them yourself, upon understanding the reality of the New Covenant. An understanding that only comes through the grace and mercy of God.
3 - What happens to your perception of God, Jesus, the church, the purpose of your life, etc., upon reading this book depends on God, not you. The "problem," as you will soon discover, is that you believe it's up to you.
